This painting was was inspired by a photo I took on a tour of Estes Park in Colorado.  It was early Spring and the tall trees were still empty. The rain had just ended and there were heavy clouds with light beginning to pour through the empty branches.  The lighting over the enormous hovering barren woods produced a dramatic, haunting effect.
