Cracker Cowboy was inspired by The Great Florida Cattle Drive re-enactment of 2016. Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de Leon brought the first cattle and horses to Florida’s shores in 1521. During the re-enactment, cracker cowboys moved nearly 500 Florida Cracker cows more than 50 miles through the Florida flatwoods north of Kissimmee. The term "cracker" refers to the crack of the whip as they move the cattle.
