What Is It Good For?

War, huh, good god, What is it good for? Absolutely nothing ...

lyrics to War, a clear anti-Vietnam war protest song recorded in 1970. I remember the Temptations version and the hit single recorded by Edwin Starr. It is one of the most popular protest songs ever recorded.

My inspiration for this piece was in response to the drip and splatter of the red paint and the jagged edges that suggested blood and bayonets to me. It also has elements of Street Art and graffiti. I  included dates of some of the numerous wars throughout our history.
