Fearless - BEST IN SHOW October 2019Save Favorites
I have been taught that abstracts must have good bones and a structure underneath that supports the design. I believe that. I also believe that while a design may be good, there needs to be more, something else that invites the viewer to linger. A figure, movement, or colors, that please them and makes them want to stay and maybe identify something no-one else sees. This painting is about taking that leap of faith and being unafraid to express emotion. I paint abstracts because enjoy it and find them challenging to paint successfully. They inform my other, more representational work. Abstracts can be amazing more for what the viewer finds there, than for any other reason.
