This painting was envisioned from a daytime ocean swim past a park of soaring palm trees. When I got home, I did a drawing, and transformed via my imagination what I had seen in the day to a nocturne. Emphasis in the piece was on soaring, and the connection of heaven to earth, as shown in the harmony between the lights in the sky and the lights of the earthly houses. Theme of this piece is that the universe was created for man: it is his hope and his future.
