Waiting for DiegoSave Favorites
Inspired by revered Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, this painting represents Frida late at night, alone, in pain, waiting for husband Diego to come home. The rings, cane, and dress were constants in her life, but the anguish on her face was my real goal in painting Frida. Her posture reinforces that emotion.
Waiting for Diego is part of my contemporary realism series of women throughout time: The Women -- Curves of Emotion. The collection is available for exhibition, https://carolynhancock.com/collections/103712
