My dog Channing is a service dog, more specifically an emotional support animal. My dear friend Pat Bowman adopted him from Humane Society. He was mistreated by a previous owner. He was bony, covered with ticks and fleas, and dying from anemia. Humane society, local vet and Pat saved his life.
When I was emotionally lost and desperately looking for a dog one year after losing my husband, Pat brought this sweet fur baby to me. He has been my sunshine ever since. I play the piano and sing "You are My Sunshine" to Channing everyday, and he really enjoys the daily concert.
When you loose your loved one, your heart "literally" breaks. There were days I thought my heart was going to stop working soon when it was beating only 40 times a minute. I had to take heart medicine which didn't help me much. It was this little boy, Channing, who saved my life. He makes me smile and laugh everyday. My heart beats good, so I don't need to take medicine anymore.
I admit I have spoiled him so much, so now I am his "service human." I cook for him, sing for him... and live for him. I feel there is nothing wrong to say that I live for his happiness.
I paint pictures with my heart. I hope part of what I was feeling delivers to the viewers. Hope you enjoy~
