This painting was inspired by my effort to paint a river with a small waterfall but I wasn't happy with the result and I kept revising it. After about five revisions this is the final result. I liked framing the river within the canyon walls and adding autumn color to the trees. Plus the view looking down on the river suggested the title to me.
