The University Club in downtown Santa Barbara is the subject of this painting, created in two plein air sessions totalling 13 hours, inside the front gate of the Club. I was attracted by the warmth of the locale, and of the inviting facade of the Spanish Colonial Architecture. Perspective, shape, and warm and cool color temperatures all played a key role in putting together this composition.
