    Description

High in the Mountains in early June I was hiking with a mission find the most beautiful little grove of Aspens I could find. I came over a small ridge and there they were in the shallow valley below. I hike down and into the small glen of trees. The light had just burned through the light cloud cover and illuminated the area with an intense yellow light. I quickly made sketches and notes to capture the scene. After taking a couple of photographs I made a small painted study, from this the larger studio painting was created. This painting is done in oil using impressionist colors and very direct brushwork. This painting is original and one of a kind and will make a wonderful addition to your collection.

This painting is inspired by the California Impressionist painters like Guy Rose and others. The painting is painted on cotton triple primed canvas with professional grade oil paint. The canvas is stretched on 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" professional wooden stretcher bars. The painting will be delivered in an enforced cardboard box crate with high-density foam for protection. The price of the painting includes the shipping. Contact me with any questions about the painting artist@kevinmccainart.com

Well, one must read the description with this painting. The artist projects such an enthusiastic spirit and I am immediately caught up! This painting surely conveys the fantastical, a place inspired by dreams of other realms -- yet within this world, shrouded in the lore of history and days gone by.

I wish there was more socially motivated art such as this one about beach erosion; the concept is well symbolized with falling angles and elements. There is color (life) above but a cold bareness below.

Very colorful meeting of shapes conveys a happy feeling. Looks like a gathering of boats -- as if they are all talking.

I love this scene because I'm reminded of a wild beach I visited just like this. It is so beautifully designed and detailed that I am instantly transported. The strong composition draws me up and into the painting, to the water and horizon beyond. It is a wonderful experience.

Beautifully painted, introspective and thoughtful portrait painted in warm colors of autumn, perhaps symbolizing the rich harvest of one's life experiences. The gaze is one of recalling memories gathering them all to a present moment in time.
