    Description

Soft pastels and charcoal on paper.

Shape and line depict a granite hillside above the valley floor in Yosemite National Park with cascading waterfall.  Below, bright yellow and orange flowers dance in anticipation of a cool summer drink.

While I love drawing and painting, I also do photography which I save for when I want to do more representational work. This gives me freedom at my easel to express my own interpretation of a scene or object.  I am inspired by the work of cubists and expressionists like Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Wassily Kandinsky and Franz Marc.

The feel of the pastel as it rakes across the paper, the textures created, and bright bold color are what keep me returning to the canvas for more.

Just an amazing work of art.

    Amazing watercolor.

Beautiful, can feel the quiet and almost a cricket.

Beautiful approach - I feel the chill from the snow but the hints of the red background peeking through provide a lovely, warm contrast that's so inviting.

    Fun and very well done.
