To experience the raw winter winds of the plains of the Midwest, is something one never forgets.  It is the bone chilling feeling that goes directly thru the body.  Seeing this lonely old tree all bent with age surviving all by itself without any other company of any kind around for miles of flat terrain, tugged at this artist's heart.  The loneliness seemed to be evident in the nonhuman world also.   Only an artist could paint a series of this tortured tree in several different settings and keep the sense of loneliness in each painting.

Beautiful approach - I feel the chill from the snow but the hints of the red background peeking through provide a lovely, warm contrast that's so inviting.

    Fun and very well done.

    Fantastic light!

This is a beautiful portrait. For this viewer that lovely face reflects innocence and purity, although that is perhaps not what the artist intended. Great skill is demonstrated with all the elements of this piece - particularly the textures of the hair and the cap. Overall it is an outstanding image.
