This portrait is intended to emphasize the figure's personality paradox.  A quiet reflective young girl dons a bright red jacket like a beacon to her innermost feelings.  I believe all portraits should reflect much more than a likeness.  It should reach within the person and bring their personality to the forefront.  This is an oil on panel painting, 16x20".

Beautiful approach - I feel the chill from the snow but the hints of the red background peeking through provide a lovely, warm contrast that's so inviting.

    Fun and very well done.

    Fantastic light!

This is a beautiful portrait. For this viewer that lovely face reflects innocence and purity, although that is perhaps not what the artist intended. Great skill is demonstrated with all the elements of this piece - particularly the textures of the hair and the cap. Overall it is an outstanding image.
