    Description

    Street Gang

    “Warriors come out to playeeyay!”

This painting reminds me of the 1979 cult classic “The Warriors” about a New York Street gang trying to get home after a botched gang summit.

The urban jungle is a dangerous place at night. Nocturnal predators come out to hunt in packs on the mean streets and their unwary prey may not make it back to the herd. Every big city has its high crime neighborhoods that are best avoided after dark. Besides the ominous mood, I like the strong verticals and design graphics of the long shadows against the intense colors in this piece.

Beautiful approach - I feel the chill from the snow but the hints of the red background peeking through provide a lovely, warm contrast that's so inviting.

    Fun and very well done.

    Fantastic light!

    beautiful

This is a beautiful portrait. For this viewer that lovely face reflects innocence and purity, although that is perhaps not what the artist intended. Great skill is demonstrated with all the elements of this piece - particularly the textures of the hair and the cap. Overall it is an outstanding image.
