When I visited these falls I had no idea the spectacle I was in for. The vibrant colours combined with rushing sounds of the falls became the challenge to reproduce on canvas. I never intend to reproduce a photographic image, as this leaves nothing to the imagination of the viewer, so in this piece my aim was to focus on the phenomenal colour of the water, framed simply by rock walls. I wanted to draw the eye to the colour, then to search further and imagine what lies at the end of the crevasse.

The colors, light and composition are yummy

Excellent portrait reflecting the mood of the model

This painting brings to mind how fragile our environment is. On a recent hike in Lake Tahoe forest, saw how bark beetles have such a great effect on the forest.

Nice color, composition and mood, with wonderful brushstrokes! Love it!

Very believable use of color. Painterly brushstrokes and the glow of the sun through the tree keeps the viewer in the painting.
