While visiting the Hopi Reservation at second mesa one of my Indian friends took me down the steep incline of the mesa and showed me the work of the Spider Woman. He explained that this display of feathers, pegs and string were arranged among the rocks, boulders and brush as a means of magic to bring good crops and fortune to the Hopi people. I can imagine her chanting and dancing as she wove the string web of magic.

The colors, light and composition are yummy

Excellent portrait reflecting the mood of the model

This painting brings to mind how fragile our environment is. On a recent hike in Lake Tahoe forest, saw how bark beetles have such a great effect on the forest.

Nice color, composition and mood, with wonderful brushstrokes! Love it!

Very believable use of color. Painterly brushstrokes and the glow of the sun through the tree keeps the viewer in the painting.
