Driving through the Rocky Mountains in December is quite an adventure. At this location, I loved the crisscrossing lines created when I looked down from the highway railing to the train tracks below. The whole scene was enclosed by a stand of trees where the afternoon light created shadows on and through the branches. All in all, there was a sereneness about the site. Manmade verses nature is often a theme I explore. Here, I found the manmade objects to be rigid in line and dark in colour while natures flowing lines softened the scene.

This painting brings to mind how fragile our environment is. On a recent hike in Lake Tahoe forest, saw how bark beetles have such a great effect on the forest.

Nice color, composition and mood, with wonderful brushstrokes! Love it!

Very believable use of color. Painterly brushstrokes and the glow of the sun through the tree keeps the viewer in the painting.

This painting just draws the viewer in. Really like the reflections in the puddles and the depth of field.

    So good!
