    Description

Tim is my dear hippie boyfriend. I wanted to practice getting faster in executing portraits from life and so he sat for me. He is into yin yoga and meditation and one would think he is from the beaches of California as he loves the ocean and body surfing. I got him to sit still watching the soccer championships so his eyes are not focused on me but in the game. It was very important to me to capture those beautiful blue green eyes that are striking in person. Those eyes say it all…peace, kindness, and generosity. He raises money for students scholarships for those that can’t afford it as well as meals on wheels for them. I wanted to capture the hippie yoga soul with a sensitivity in the eyes. The  imaginative loose summer day background are his favorite colors put on by scraping, sanding, and dripping with tools. He is calm but the background has movement…his energy of a Sagittarius is always moving in all directions!

This painting brings to mind how fragile our environment is. On a recent hike in Lake Tahoe forest, saw how bark beetles have such a great effect on the forest.

Nice color, composition and mood, with wonderful brushstrokes! Love it!

Very believable use of color. Painterly brushstrokes and the glow of the sun through the tree keeps the viewer in the painting.

This painting just draws the viewer in. Really like the reflections in the puddles and the depth of field.

    So good!
