This is a painting done from life, and from inspiration.  It is an attempt to move between drawing lines and filling in blocks of color.  It is a wild thing to see painted, probably almost scary.  I will sometimes yell out with a good Marine grunt taught to me by my Drill Instructor.  I will stab at the painting... actually stab at it.  I will strike it with the blunt end of the brush.  Use an ink brayer on it.  Splatter it.  Drip on it.  Turn it upside down.  There is a purpose to this.  A painting like this is a way for me to get free of how I think a painting should be down.

The colors, light and composition are yummy

Excellent portrait reflecting the mood of the model

This painting brings to mind how fragile our environment is. On a recent hike in Lake Tahoe forest, saw how bark beetles have such a great effect on the forest.

Nice color, composition and mood, with wonderful brushstrokes! Love it!

Very believable use of color. Painterly brushstrokes and the glow of the sun through the tree keeps the viewer in the painting.
