    About the media

This picture was drown by the technique called “Nihon-ga ( Japanese-style pigment )”.

    Nihon-ga is a water-soluble-pigment.

But it is different from watercolor.

Nihon-ga  has a variety of size of pigment.

I am searching the view of the lowest layer of unconscious( subconscious).

This trial refers to the model of mind what was suggested by C.G.Jung.

The model means that a man can link others, if he digs down to “collective unconscious” layer.

In short, we have the gate to link others in ourselves.

Rightly, I have to cut off myself, because I leave from my individuality.

Therefore my artworks do not have items so many. It is to shave off myself, not to get or to brush up my individuality.

On the other hand, the blank of my picture is not vacancy white.

It has some cracks and some patterns.

This device was influenced by “Yuu-gen”( a kind of Japanese aesthetic*).

By this aesthetic, vacancy white will be the blank with meanings and flames.

If you find some good old feeling in my artworks, it is just my pleasure.

    *   Please think that to draw in your mind, do not draw anything.

This is an example that is from famous Hai-ku( Japanese poem).

It is a technique what makes to feel “It’s a silent place that I can hear the sound”,  by representing “I hear the sound a flog dove”.

    Are you kidding me?

Needs more work and discipline. Keep painting but learn foreshortening and composition skills. Skies run from back to front and front to back.....not top to bottom. I'm not preaching, I'm just educating.

I love the light in this piece. Watercolor is such a beautiful medium when executed properly like this. Kudos to Chris on this piece. Love the folding of cloth with the black and white pattern. Great job!

    Those Gleams

These mandarins look good enough to peel and eat and the gleams make them highly realistic. Against the colorful quilt, they just pop!

Very unique. I like it the more I look at it. I am very intrigued by the fact it's glow-in-the-dark

I love the way you created the sense of distance in this painting. Depicting the horizon line on a slight curve is very effective!
