PROMOTION: What do you mean by "promotion" when purchasing painting entry credits?

"PROMOTED" PAINTINGS receive a PAID post in social media. Your artwork also appears in rotation with other promoted paintings on the PaintingContest.org home page and on many other pages throughout our website. Promoted paintings typically receive many more views. You can see what this means by visiting the entries page. Note the small yellow star next to some of the entries (indicates promotion), and then look further to the right to see the "eye" icon showing the number of views:

A paid social media post reaches out to a brand new audience and appears in the timelines of people (like collectors) who may be interested in your painting's subject matter or qualities (that's the reason we ask for a good description with your work); if you sell your painting from PaintingContest.org, you keep 100% of the proceeds!

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED A PAINTING PACKAGE WITHOUT PROMOTION, BUT LATER CHANGE YOUR MIND, LET US KNOW --  WE CAN SEND YOU A PAYPAL INVOICE FOR THE EXTRA $5 PER PAINTING ENTRY YOU WANT AND THEN GO AHEAD AND ADVERTISE YOUR WORK WITH AN EXTRA PAID PROMOTION.

IMPORTANT NOTE: "Promotion" does not increase your painting's chances of becoming a finalist; rather it simply means you'll receive extra exposure and publicity for your painting in social media! ALSO, YOU MUST HAVE A DESCRIPTION WITH YOUR PAINTING FOR PROMOTION TO WORK PROPERLY. Otherwise, automated systems in Facebook and other social media picks up someone else's painting review or description from the page because it looks for text to accompany a link and photo.
