Her national and international workshops and seminars continually attract a large and enthusiastic following while her striking abstract paintings can be found on display in top Sedona art galleries.

Commenting on her method, she explains, “My artwork is a reflection of who I am.  I work in a spontaneous manner until I have built up a surface on a support by texturing, layering papers, and painting, often repeating this process many times. As the work develops, it becomes more important to me then the satisfaction I feel with the final image."

Jan’s studies include the Kansas City Art Institute, Kansas City, Missouri, and a B.A. degree at Western State College, Gunnison, Colorado.

Jan has been the recipient of many awards and exhibition honors, and has served as an art judge. Her unique paintings are held in public, private, and corporate collections, including The Johnson Building Gallery in Gunnison, Colorado, Gallery Keoki in Olympic Valley, California, El Pedregal of Scottsdale, Arizona, and several well known fine art galleries in Sedona, Arizona.

Jan is a member of The Arizona Watercolor Association, National Society of Acrylic Painters, The International Society of Experimental Artists, and The Society of Layerists (Arizona State Coordinator).
